Can I make a non-alcoholic version of the Hell or Highwater Pickle Fizz?

Yes! You can easily transform this Pickle recipe into a refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail (mocktail). Substitute the gin with a non-alcoholic botanical spirit (such as CleanCo G, Seedlip, or Pentire) and replace the prosecco with a non-alcoholic sparkling wine or soda water.

What gin works best with pickle juice?

A classic London Dry Gin or a juniper-forward botanical gin works best. The dry, piney juniper notes cut through the salinity and spice of the Goat Rodeo Hell or High Water Pickle brine without overpowering the citrus.

What foods pair well with a pickle juice cocktail?

Savoury and salty cocktails pair exceptionally well with rich, fatty, or fried foods. Try serving this pickle fizz alongside charcuterie boards, sharp cheddar cheese, oysters, fried chicken, or burger sliders.

Can I make a batch of Hell or Highwater Fizz ahead of time for a party?

Yes! You can pre-mix the gin, fresh lemon juice, and Hell or High Water pickle juice in a pitcher or bottle up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the fridge. Do not add the ice or prosecco until serving—pour the pre-mixed base over ice in coupe glasses and top up with fresh prosecco right before serving to maintain maximum fizz.

What can I substitute for prosecco if I don't have any?

If you don't have prosecco, champagne, cava, or any dry sparkling wine will work well. For a lower-abv or lighter alternative, you can substitute sparkling water, club soda, or a dry tonic water.
