It’s fine, we’re fine.
A new batch of garlic came in a lot fresher than we normally get, and in the pickling process it’s reacted in a way that’s turned it blue. It’s all down to the sulphur in the garlic meeting the acid in the vinegar - a known (and entirely harmless) phenomenon.

🧪 THE SCIENCE BIT
Fresh garlic contains high levels of sulphur compounds. When that sulphur meets the acid in our vinegar brine, it triggers a harmless chemical reaction that turns the garlic blue. The fresher the garlic, the more sulphur — and the bluer it gets. This batch? Very fresh garlic.
To be absolutely clear: the garlic is perfectly safe to eat. But… we also appreciate that opening a jar to find blue garlic might not be quite what everyone had in mind.
So - in the spirit of embracing the chaos - we’ve got a very limited batch of blue pickles Hell or High Water Hot Dog Pickles available at a special price.
These hotdog pickles stand proud in their punchy brine — hot as hell, perfectly sour and full of fiery spices. Slap them on sausages for serious big-dawg hotdog energy, or use them in a Bloody Mary. Vinegar-forward, no added sugar, uncompromisingly punchy.
Once they're gone, they're gone.
Tasting Notes
Chilli, dill and garlic make these our punchiest pickles. They are spicy and don’t have any sugar in the brine so are our most “American” pickles.
